At Clear and Clean, we use a gentle Steam Cleaning method for your roof, followed by a ‘Professional Use Only’ Biocide. Avoid costly repairs, and reduce the need for a full roof replacement with regular cleaning. Insurance companies can void claims if your roof is not adequately maintained.
Why is Roof Cleaning Important?
You clean your home, inside and out, but how often do you have your roof cleaned? Due to the British weather, your roof is a natural breeding ground for organic growth such as moss, algae and lichens. Due to the caustic nature of organic matter, your roof tiles can degrade over time. As this organic material is a natural organism, light and water are the perfect elements for it to grow. This can cause cracks and gaps between tiles due to expansion, and excess weight through water retention.
Not only does poor maintenance affect your roof tiles – it can also have a knock-on effect, with implications to your gutter system, due to moss and debris falling into the guttering, and ultimately, blockages, causing damp issues inside your property. Avoid this by calling in the professionals.
Steam Cleaning Method
A gentle Steam Cleaning method is used, followed by a ‘Professional Use Only’ Biocide. Steam removes the organic matter, without damage to your tiles or substrates. We NEVER pressure wash roofs. Being ‘Safe Contractor Approved’ we always use the most appropriate methods for your property. One method does not suit all. To gain access, we use either tower scaffolding, or high-level access machinery. We never stand on domestic roof tiles. Once steamed, a ‘Professional Use Only’ Biocide treatment is applied to prolong any regrowth. Only HSE approved chemicals are used, as they are the safest. Any waste will be disposed of legally using our waste carrier’s licence. Post roof-clean, we vacuum and wash down guttering, windows and uPVC, free of charge.
You will receive a 2-year guarantee for every roof clean. Therefore, should any organic matter reappear within that time, we will return and remove it at no extra cost.
